Honorary Colonel Handover Ceremony

427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron's (SOAS) new Honorary Colonel Lianne Ing was officially appointed to her new position during a ceremony presided over by commanding officer LCol Clay Rook on July 12, 2018, in Petawawa, Ont. Honorary Colonel Ing takes over from outgoing Honorary Colonel Del Lippert who had held the appointment with distinction since May, 2015.

A life-long resident of Deep River, Honorary Colonel Lianne D. Ing has served more than 15 years with Bubble Technology Industries. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Chemical Engineering, Honorary Colonel Ing serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Chamber"s Small & Medium Enterprise Committee. She is also currently serving on the Public Services and Procurement Canada Supplier Advisory Subcommittee on Supplier Relationship and Performance Management.

Honorary Colonels act as advisors to unit commanders and become key members within the Air Force environment. There are some 60 appointments throughout the RCAF at any one time.
