2021 Remembrance Day Ceremony - Cobden - Home of the 427 Squadron Cenotaph
The Remembrance Day ceremony was an abbreviated service compared to pre-covid years but very well attended. Legion President Wayne had coordinated with CFB Petawawa who this year supplied some resources but were unable to provide sufficent personnel for a parade due to operational committments. Off duty military as well as local citizens gathered in surprising numbers at the Legion Memorial for the service on a chilly, windy fall day. After the Legion ceremony, personnel from 427 SOAS gathered at the 427 Squadron Cenotaph and shared their poppies, placing them on the 427 SOAS wreath placed there. The photos below were taken by two 427 Squadron veterans, Ken Sorfleet, Helicopter era and Wayne MacLellan, Sabre era.
